Review:
The first part of Claude Berri's masterpiece Jean De Florette is an engrossing tale of human nature, showing how far people will go to realise their dreams. Whether they are those of the Gerard Depardieu's hunchback trying to escape the grim reality of townlife by making a success of his small farm. Or the greedy ambitions of his neighbours (Montand & Auteuil) to take over his land.
The second part Manon des Sources completes tale by showing the thirst for revenge, and the consequences of deception and greed.
